BP station owners, customers, left high and dry in bankruptcy dispute

Eagle-Tribune -- METHUEN — For nearly a month, Sam Youssef, owner of the BP station on Lowell Street, hasn't sold a single drop of gasoline from his full-service station.

"I get 20, 30, 40 calls a day, asking, when am I going to reopen," said Youssef, who's owned the store for seven years. As he was talking to a reporter from The Eagle-Tribune this week, a woman drove up and asked if she could get gas, apparently not having seen the signs saying 'No Gas' and the orange cones blocking the pumps.

"I'm out of gas and I need full-service," she said, imploring Youssef to fill her tank or tell her where she could go for service.

"I don't have any gas," he answered politely. "Hopefully we'll have it next week. I don't know who else has full-serve pumps."

No gas prices posted, cones blocking the pumps and the only customers were 2 cars in for service. This station was on a busy corner. Sad. Hopefully, they manage to find another supplier.

Is that when your too lazy to pump it yourself and a gas attendant has to pump it. I would rather do it myself, it seems faster that way.

Try yourself as an individual to get a tanker of gas - must find a rental truck, then likely bribe the gas hub, then buy your additives to add to the tanker, cover the insurance costs of transport & pumping etc. They'd lose money in the transactions I'm sure.

Check your state law

Maybe, that is why sales are spotty here at the BP pumps. And,NO, the DO NOT offer full service.

I'd cover the BP sign and try to get another supplier. At least that would mitigate damages caused by Getty. Hope station owners can recoup some losses from Getty.
