He has had a few customers that scrapped the side of their cars while looking at the rear view camera. Probably better to stick with the sensors.

When they come out with new cars with all these new helps most times they are more of a hindrance than a help. Also the more electronics added the more things to go wrong.

I don't see how any of these aids would greatly improve things. My wife's Honda is another matter. It's hard to tell where the back ends, no matter how hard you try. A backup camera might be a useful thing in a car like that, where the corners are so rounded off that you can't see them. I can't see how a warning sensor could help, unless you could set it for a specific distance that would still allow you time to react. Otherwise you could get a false sense of security or have endless false alarms. Who needs that?

Without them or a camera, I don't think one has any idea if a small object is behind the car on the ground.

I don't use any mirror including side and rear view, no special devices. I turn around in my seat and use my eyes. I can backup easily that way and it allows me to drive backwards in a straight line.

But my side and rear view mirrors are set to where I can see most everything along with the small dome in the left side mirror helps me keep up with my blind spot. So eventually I'll have one of the new cars with a camera in back. Here's hoping !!!
