"The VMT would unfairly punish people who drive to make a living. " No it wouldn't. The more miles you drive, the more gas you buy, the more tax you already do pay. A mile tax would make EV's etc. that don't buy gas also pay road tax.

yes it is are tax dollars, but the money for the battery plants are going to foreign country copmanys.
