I lived in NYC a few months and just stored my car and rode the public transit. Hard to get around up there anyway and no place to park when you get there.

These type of things are insane since fewer people carry cash & more carry debit & credit cards for convenience. There were a few stations that were given HEAVY fines every day until their prices were lowered to compete with all other stations in their immediate area. They stayed on them until it was accomplished and until the fines were more than these stations wanted to deal with! Once for the state and local government....

I will not use my credit card any place that charges more for using a credit card. I simply go to a station that wants my business enough to not tack on extra charges for using credit or debit cards. I have been doing this for years.
