Here are some highlights: Crude oil inventories increased by 6.2 million barrels to a total of 363.1 million barrels. At 363.1 million barrels, inventories are 5.3 million barrels above last year (1.5%) and are above average. Supply at NYMEX delivery point, Cushing, Oklahoma fell 0.7 million barrels to 40.4 million barrels this week. Gasoline inventories decreased 2.5 million barrels to 205.6 million barrels. Govt needs to get this in control. If they can bail out companies and countries, why can't they get a grip on these gas prices?

And that means, companies can jack the prices sky high at the pump.

It means either they have cut production to boost prices, or people are not buying their overpriced gasoline.

Crude and other inventories can increase and decrease for a lot of different reasons; and while DOE provides some of that info, there are a lot of relevant factors that are left pretty sketchy. For one thing demand/consumption info in psarticular is rather lacking. It would shed a lot more light on the subject to have that (and other) info included; but my expectations for that happening, considering the bureaucratic source are about what one might expect.
