The malware, discovered by Russia-based anti-virus firm Kaspersky Lab, is an espionage toolkit that has been infecting targeted systems in Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, the Israeli Occupied Territories and other countries in the Middle East and North Africa for at least two years.

Kaspersky discovered the malware about two weeks ago after the United Nations’ International Telecommunications Union asked the Lab to look into reports in April that computers belonging to the Iranian Oil Ministry and the Iranian National Oil Company had been hit with malware that was stealing and deleting

This sounds very similar to an article about a virus that maliciously targeted equipment commonly used for making nuclear weapons about a year ago.

The average person has nothing to worry about with this device. It was obviously created by someone with the intention of spying on certain countries in the middle east, mainly Iran and anyone doing business with them. Now that it has been detected you can be sure the attackers have moved on to something else.

Man started out fighting by hitting each other with their hands. Then they found out you didn’t have to get close, just throw a rock. Not we hit each other with computer code. Where do we go next?
